In July of 1969 the rat problem in Texarkana Arkansas, and Texarkana, Texas was enough to earn the twin cities the title of “Rat Capital of America”. Things got so bad that CBS News did a feature on the cities.
Highlighting that a lot of the issues that caused the rat population to skyrocket was in the incohesive way that the two city governments were seemingly unable to work together. The rat problem went a long way in getting the two municipalities to cooperate on many levels. Check out this video…
