    Suspect Arrested in 4th of July Shooting Incident in Miller County

    The Miller County Sheriff’s Office reports that Neil Williams Jr., 19, of Ashdown Arkansas has been arrested and charged in a shooting incident that happened July 4 on MC 139. Williams was arrested by Ashdown PD and transported to the Miller County Detention Center where he was booked on charges of 7 counts of Aggravated Assault Class D Felony and 11 counts of Terroristic Act, Class B Felony.

    On Sunday, July 4, 2021, at approximately 1:00pm, Miller County Deputies were
    dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Miller County Road 139. regarding shots
    fired. Reports indicated that the suspect, identified as Neil Williams Jr., B/M 19 of
    Ashdown Ar, fired multiple shots from his vehicle with a handgun into the residence.
    The residence where the shooting occurred was occupied by several occupants, no
    injuries were sustained at the time of the incident. Detectives learned this was related to an
    ongoing feud between one of the victims at the residence and Mr. Williams. The Miller
    County Criminal Investigation Division responded, conducted interviews, processed the
    scene, and obtained an arrest warrant for Mr. Williams. The Ashdown Police Department
    assisted by taking Mr. Williams into custody at his residence on July 8 th .
    Neil Williams Jr. was transported to the Miller County Detention Center where he was
    booked on charges of 7 counts of Aggravated Assault Class D Felony and 11 counts of
    Terroristic Act, Class B Felony. Mr. Williams remains in custody pending his First
    Judicial Appearance.
