The 2021 Downtown Texarkana Christmas Parade takes place on Monday, December 6 and you can watch all of the floats, bands, participants, and such, including Santa, who will be at the Christmas Tree Forest next to Crossties afterward to meet all the good girls and boys.
Monday, December 6, Jeff and Ms. Darlene Taylor will live-stream the Parade on TexarkanaFYI.com’s Facebook and YouTube channels from the rooftop of The Hideout at 311 E. Broad Street. The coverage will begin just in front of 7:00 pm.
Right after the parade, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the Christmas Tree forest next to Crossties on Broad Street for all of the little girls and boys to share their wishes and get some great photos. There will be hot chocolate, cookies, food vendors will be on Front Street Plaza, and more on Broad Street.
The theme this year is “12 Days of Christmas” and all parade entries must be “lit”.
Thanks to Main Street and poor planning the Parade Route is going to be wonky again this year. Instead of coming up 3rd street to Stateline, then north on Stateline to the Post Office… for the 2021 Christmas Parade, they are just cutting the post office out of it completely. Millions of dollars in renovations, and the street is too narrow to even get our big firetrucks around it. So the parade route will run up Broad Street to Texas Boulevard, a right on Texas, and go past Third Street to take a right on Fourth Street, then straight down Fourth Street and will end in front of El Frio Express.
