As the nation prepares to honor and express gratitude to those who have bravely served in the military, the Texarkana Area Veterans Council (TAVC) proudly announces the much-anticipated event of the year—the Annual Veterans Day Parade. On Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 11:00 AM.

The streets of downtown Texarkana will come alive with a vibrant display of patriotism, unity, and heartfelt appreciation for our veterans. The parade, a symbol of respect and admiration for the men and women who have selflessly defended our freedom, will commence at East Broad & Hazel Streets. Line up for participating organizations, schools, clubs, churches, and businesses begins at 9:30 AM, creating a sea of colors, banners, and marching bands that will weave through the heart of Texarkana.

This year’s theme, “150+ Years of Texarkana Area Veterans,” resonates deeply with the Texarkana Sesquicentennial, commemorating the rich history and contributions of our local heroes. It’s an opportunity for the community to reflect on the sacrifices made by veterans over the years and to celebrate their indomitable spirit.

The Texarkana Area Veterans Council extends an open invitation to all area organizations and individuals who wish to be part of this special occasion. Whether you represent a school, club, church, or business, your participation is valued and welcomed. To join the parade lineup, reach out to the organizers by calling either 903-556-1613 or 1-877-824-4862. Alternatively, you can email at USMCgreg@aol.com to ensure your spot in this memorable event.

The parade not only serves as a poignant tribute to veterans but also as a platform for the community to come together in a collective expression of support. As the streets resonate with patriotic tunes and the sight of American flags waving proudly, let us unite to honor the brave individuals who have safeguarded our liberties.

In the spirit of gratitude and camaraderie, the Texarkana Area Veterans Council encourages everyone to attend, show support, and wave their American flags high. It’s an opportunity to connect with fellow community members, express appreciation for our veterans, and demonstrate unwavering support for the troops.

So, mark your calendars, gather your family and friends, and join the Texarkana Area Veterans Council in saluting our heroes. Let this Veterans Day Parade be a resounding tribute to the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of the men and women who have served and continue to serve our great nation. Remember the veterans, support the troops, and come down to witness a spectacle of honor and pride in Texarkana.
