The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has announced that North Park Road under Interstate 30 will be closed starting Wednesday, June 26, as part of the ongoing I-30 widening project. This closure marks the beginning of the next phase of the project, which aims to enhance the highway’s capacity and safety.
The current phase involves the demolition of the existing eastbound bridge over the CP-KCS Railroad, the construction of the second half of a new eastbound bridge, and the development of approximately 4,000 linear feet of new eastbound traffic lanes. This significant construction effort is projected to last about 12 months.
During this period, North Park Road will be completely closed to vehicles, bicyclists, and pedestrians, ensuring safety and allowing for efficient progress on the project. TxDOT advises residents and commuters to plan alternate routes and exercise caution in the area.
