Authorities with the Texarkana Texas Police Department apprehended a murder suspect from Little Rock on Friday, January 31, following a swift operation at a local hotel.
Law enforcement received word that Jerry Bowser, 50, wanted in connection with a homicide the day before in Little Rock, might be in the area. Officers quickly located his vehicle in the hotel parking lot and confirmed he had checked in the night before.
As members of the Special Investigations Unit and Texas DPS set up outside his room, Bowser unexpectedly stepped out. Officers immediately confronted him, but he initially refused to comply with commands. In response, officers deployed a JPX pepper gun, striking him twice and subduing him.
At the time of his arrest, Bowser had a pistol tucked in his waistband, though he never had the chance to reach for it.
Bowser was taken into custody and booked into Bi-State Jail on a capital murder warrant from Little Rock. He will soon be extradited back to Arkansas to face charges.
