On Saturday, March 29, 2025, the Texarkana Area Chapter #278 of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Inc. will host the 10th annual National Vietnam War Veterans Day ceremony. This event will take place at the Korea/Vietnam War Memorial, located at 7th Street and State Line Avenue, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 p.m., providing the community an opportunity to honor and recognize the service and sacrifice of all those who served in the military during the Vietnam War. Following the formal program, attendees will have the chance to socialize with fellow veterans and supporters.
March 29 holds deep significance, marking the day in 1973 when the last U.S. combat troops left Vietnam and American prisoners of war returned home. This year’s observance also coincides with the final year of the 50th Commemoration of the Vietnam War, making the event even more poignant.
Vietnam-era veterans and their families are encouraged to attend and take part in this special recognition. The event’s theme, “Together Then – Together Now,” reflects the enduring bond shared by those who served. The Texarkana community is invited to join in welcoming home these veterans and expressing gratitude for their service.
