The Texarkana Texas Police Department has arrested 32-year-old Patrick Cridell, Jr. in connection with a brutal hit-and-run incident that left a man critically injured Sunday night. Cridell faces a charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
According to investigators, surveillance footage from multiple cameras in the area helped detectives piece together the harrowing chain of events. Around 6:00 p.m., the victim was walking across a church parking lot in the 300 block of W. 25th Street when a silver Kia suddenly veered off the roadway, accelerated, and struck him before fleeing the scene.
Tragically, the victim was not discovered until early Monday morning when a Highland Park Elementary employee arrived for work and found him lying near one of the school’s doors. Despite suffering severe injuries, he had somehow managed to drag himself across the street from the initial point of impact.
Later in the morning, Detective Thomas Shaddix was canvassing the neighborhood when he spotted a heavily damaged silver Kia parked at a residence just four blocks from the scene. As the investigation unfolded, detectives determined that Cridell was the driver responsible for the hit-and-run.
Cridell has since been booked into the Bi-State Jail, while the victim remains in critical condition in the ICU at Christus St. Michael Hospital.

Authorities urge anyone with additional information about the incident to contact the Texarkana Texas Police Department at (903) 798-3116 or call Crime Stoppers at (903) 793-STOP.
The investigation remains ongoing.
