Drivers traveling through the I-30 construction zone should take note of a new speed limit now in effect. TxDOT and ARDOT have lowered the speed limit to 60 miles per hour in both directions, stretching from the 216 mile marker in Texas to the 3 mile marker in Arkansas.
The change comes as first responders continue to face challenges in the area. The Texarkana Texas Fire Department shared that this morning, firefighters had a difficult time reaching the scene of a wreck due to the location and conditions along the interstate. Thanks to their training, skill, and teamwork, crews were able to safely and effectively carry out their work.
TTFD added they are proud of the dedication their firefighters show on every response, and they are reminding drivers to slow down and be cautious through the work zone.
