The City of Texarkana, Texas Parks and Recreation Department will host its annual Spring Community Yard Sale and Electronic Recycling event on Saturday, April 11, offering residents a chance to shop, sell, and safely dispose of unwanted electronics.
The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Spring Lake Park.
Community members interested in participating as vendors can reserve a 20×20 space for $15. Registration must be completed in person at the Southwest Center, with payment accepted by cash, check, or money order. Vendor registration will close at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 9. Organizers note that food vendors will not be permitted.
In addition to the yard sale, the event will feature electronic recycling services provided by E-Tech Waste Solutions. The service is aimed at helping residents properly dispose of outdated or unused electronics while reducing environmental impact.
Accepted items for recycling include computers, laptops, tablets, servers, networking equipment, monitors, televisions, printers, phones, gaming consoles, sound systems, and small household electronics such as microwaves. Cables, cords, and power adapters associated with these devices will also be accepted.
Certain items, including CRT televisions and monitors, will require a recycling fee based on size. However, some materials will not be accepted, including batteries from powered tools, alkaline batteries, light bulbs, and devices containing Freon such as refrigerators and air conditioners.
Organizers say the event is designed to promote sustainability while giving residents a convenient opportunity to declutter their homes and connect with the community.
