Get ready, Texarkana—because downtown is about to turn into taco central. This weekend it’s all about the Flavors, Fun, and Fierce Competition!
The first-ever Texarkana Taco Festival is happening this Saturday, May 9th at Front Street Plaza, and organizers say it’s shaping up to be one of the most fun—and flavorful—events of the year.
This all-day celebration will feature food trucks, live music, vendors, games, and nonstop taco-themed entertainment for the whole family. And yes… if it can be taco-related, it’s probably happening.
From crowd-favorite competitions to some truly unique events, the Texarkana Taco Festival is leaning all the way in.
🌟 What to Expect
One of the biggest draws will be the Chihuahua Parade, where pint-sized pups take center stage to kick things off. From there, things heat up quickly—literally.
The Hot Salsa “Toughman” Contest will test competitors’ spice tolerance, while local vendors battle it out for bragging rights in the Best Taco and Best Salsa competitions.
And if that’s not enough… things get even more interesting with luchadores wrestling all day, a “Dress Your Pet Like a Taco” contest, and the grand finale—an all-out Taco Eating Contest that promises to be the main event of the day.

Organizers say the goal is simple: create a high-energy, family-friendly event that brings the community together—with tacos at the center of it all.
Whether you’re there for the food, the fun, or just to see someone regret entering a hot salsa contest… there’s going to be something for everyone.
So come hungry, bring the family, hydrate, and maybe pace yourself on the hot sauce!
