The community is invited to celebrate the return of a downtown favorite as the Texarkana Arts & Historic District Committee and the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce host a ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly renovated downtown trolley on Friday, June 12.
The ceremony will begin at 4:30 p.m. in front of the downtown Post Office and will officially unveil the restored trolley to the public.
Organizers say the event is designed to celebrate both the trolley restoration and the continued growth and revitalization of downtown Texarkana. Community members will have the opportunity to be among the first to ride the renovated trolley following the ribbon cutting ceremony.
The celebration will continue throughout the evening as June 12 also coincides with another Main Street Texarkana Downtown Live event, bringing additional entertainment, shopping, dining, and activities to the downtown district.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to spend the evening exploring downtown Texarkana while supporting local restaurants, retail shops, entertainment venues, and the arts community.
Organizers say the event is free and open to the public.
