TAPD and Miller County OEM Launch Coordinated Search for Two Missing Men

The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department, in partnership with multiple agencies and volunteer organizations, will conduct coordinated search operations on June 3 and June 4 in an effort to locate two missing men, Jonathan Bohrer and Johnny Hamilton.

According to TAPD, both men are from Louisiana, but investigators say there is currently no evidence to suggest the two missing person cases are connected.

The large-scale search effort will involve personnel from the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department Criminal Investigation Division, the Morgan Nick Foundation, the Miller County Office of Emergency Management, and numerous trained volunteers. Officials say the operation is designed to expand search coverage, pursue investigative leads, and increase the chances of safely locating both individuals.

As part of the operation, the Morgan Nick Foundation will deploy specially trained search dogs to assist teams in the field. Authorities are asking residents in and around the search areas to keep personal pets secured during the operation to avoid interfering with search dogs and law enforcement personnel.

Search teams will focus on areas where vehicles belonging to Bohrer and Hamilton were previously discovered, while also expanding into surrounding locations as investigators deem necessary.

Community members may notice an increased law enforcement and volunteer presence throughout the designated search zones over the two-day operation. TAPD is encouraging anyone with information that could assist investigators to report it through the department’s established reporting channels.

To facilitate the search and ensure public safety, Roberts Street at the entrance to Poindexter Park will be temporarily closed during the operation. Barricades will be placed at both entrances to the park, and public access to the area will be restricted.

Officials emphasized that the volunteers participating in the search are highly trained and that no additional public volunteers are being requested at this time.

TAPD expressed appreciation for the cooperation of partner agencies and the many volunteers dedicating their time and resources to the effort.

Anyone with information regarding Jonathan Bohrer or Johnny Hamilton is encouraged to contact the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
