The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department says an investigation at Club Level over the weekend stemmed from community complaints regarding the illegal sale of alcohol to minors and the operation of an unlicensed establishment — not an organized immigration enforcement action.
According to TAPD, officers received numerous complaints about alleged alcohol sales to underage individuals at Club Level, located at 2502 E. 9th Street.
Investigators later determined the business did not possess the permits required by the State of Arkansas for the sale or possession of alcohol. TAPD relayed the information to the 8th South Drug Task Force, a multi-agency unit made up of officers from Texarkana Arkansas Police and deputies from Miller and Lafayette counties.
During the investigation on Saturday, June 13, 2026, an undercover officer reportedly purchased alcohol without being asked to provide proof of age. Authorities cited Arkansas Code 3-3-205 related to the sale or possession of alcohol without a license.
Following the purchase, officers worked to identify individuals inside the establishment who were in possession of alcohol or appeared to be under 21 years old.
According to police, patrons who cooperated and provided identification were allowed to leave.
Authorities stated that the owner of the establishment and two bartenders were issued citations for illegal sale of alcohol under Arkansas law.
TAPD said some individuals inside the club refused to provide identification or identifying information during the investigation. Police stated that the Department of Homeland Security was contacted to assist with identifying those individuals.
Social media speculation over the weekend characterized the incident as an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation; however, TAPD emphasized in its release that this was not an organized immigration operation.
Police stated the investigation originated from complaints involving an alleged illegal nightclub operation and concerns about alcohol being sold to both adults and minors without proper permits.
TAPD directed questions regarding DHS activities to federal officials.
