After 17 years of serving homemade Italian favorites to the Texarkana community, Chappo’s Italian Cuisine has announced it has permanently closed its doors.
The restaurant shared the news with customers in a heartfelt message posted on social media, thanking the community for nearly two decades of support.
“Fresh and delicious we always tried to maintain our flavor/taste and well material things do wear out. Since COVID been on survival mode, finally decided to close it down. THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT OVER THE LAST 17 YEARS.”
Known for its authentic Italian dishes and loyal customer following, Chappo’s became a longtime fixture in the local dining scene. For many families, the restaurant was a favorite destination for birthdays, anniversaries, family dinners, and special occasions.
In its announcement, the owners acknowledged the ongoing challenges many small businesses have faced since the COVID-19 pandemic, saying the restaurant had been operating in “survival mode” before ultimately making the difficult decision to close permanently.
The closure marks the end of a 17-year chapter for one of Texarkana’s locally owned Italian restaurants.
As word of the announcement spread online, customers began sharing memories, expressing gratitude for the restaurant’s food, hospitality, and the friendships built over the years.
From all of us, we wish the owners and staff of Chappo’s Italian Cuisine the very best in whatever comes next, and we thank them for 17 years of serving the Texarkana community.
