Beware of the heat this weekend, so it’s best to get out to the Farmer’s Market early for some fresh produce. We have two great markets in Texarkana to try out!
If you’re looking for the freshest flavors the Ark-La-Tex has to offer, make a stop at the Gateway Farmers Market in Texarkana, Arkansas. A local tradition for more than 25 years, the market is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. until noon at 602 E. Jefferson Avenue. You’ll find farm-fresh fruits and vegetables grown by local farmers within a 75-mile radius of Texarkana, along with homemade baked goods, jams and jellies, local honey, flowers, handcrafted items, soaps, USDA meats, fresh coffee and much more. It’s the perfect place to support local growers while filling your kitchen with fresh, seasonal favorites.
Saturday mornings are also a great time to visit the Texarkana Texas Farmers’ Market, located next to the historic downtown Federal Building and Post Office at 500 N. State Line Avenue. Open Saturdays from 8 a.m. until noon through the summer season, the market features locally grown produce, fresh eggs, farm-raised meats, baked goods, artisan foods, handmade crafts, flowers, soaps, locally roasted coffee and more. Each week brings a fun theme and a chance to meet the farmers, makers and small businesses that help make our community unique.
