Members of the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department SWAT Team conducted a high-risk arrest and search warrant operation Wednesday at a residence in the 3300 block of Washington Street.
According to TAPD, the operation was part of an ongoing criminal investigation and involved the execution of high-risk search and arrest warrants.
Officers safely took the suspect into custody without incident.
Police said the use of the department’s specialized SWAT resources is intended to help officers safely handle situations that present an elevated risk to law enforcement, residents and the surrounding community.
TAPD emphasized that high-risk operations are conducted in a deliberate and safety-focused manner, with the goal of protecting both officers and the public.
The department said additional information about the investigation, including any charges, will be released as it becomes available and as permitted by law.
TAPD also thanked the members of the SWAT Team and supporting personnel involved in Wednesday’s operation for their work in safely resolving the situation.
