It’s time to make plans to honor the men and women who have served our country as the 2nd Annual Veterans Day Extravaganza returns to downtown Texarkana on Saturday, November 14, 2026.
Organizers are preparing a full day of patriotic celebration, community activities, vendors, food, family fun, and live entertainment, culminating in an evening concert featuring country music star Gary Allan at Front Street Plaza.
But organizers have a message for the community: This event isn’t just about the people in the parade. It’s about the people who come out to watch it.
The Texarkana Area Veterans Council, (TAVC) Veterans Day Parade will feature an extended, old-school route through downtown, marching up and past the steps of the historic Federal Building. Residents are encouraged to bring their families, find a spot along the route, wave a flag, and show local veterans that their service and sacrifice have not been forgotten.
Organizers are hoping for a strong turnout from spectators, with a simple goal: More people lining the streets than participating in the parade!
The day will also feature vendors, food trucks, family activities, and entertainment, giving residents plenty of reasons to spend the day downtown. The celebration will wrap up with the Gary Allan concert at Front Street Plaza.
Building on Last Year’s Success
The 2026 celebration follows last year’s inaugural event, which brought the community together for a full day of Veterans Day activities and an evening concert headlined by Tracy Lawrence.
That first celebration was dedicated in memory of Lt. Colonel Don Ruggles, honoring his military service and lasting legacy in the Texarkana area.
This year’s event continues that mission, bringing together veterans, military families, community organizations, businesses, and residents for a celebration that recognizes the people who have defended our nation’s freedoms.
Whether you’re a veteran, have a family member who served, or simply appreciate the sacrifices made by America’s military, organizers want you there.
