It was great weather for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of the new Experiential Environmental Education (E3) Pavilion at Spring Lake Park.
Junior-level pre-service teachers in the Methods for Science, Math, Health and PE class at A&M-Texarkana were on hand to conduct environmental education learning exercises with fifth-grade students from Highland Park Elementary School.
The pavilion will provide students in the region with experiential learning opportunities in environmental education. It is available to schools in the region, as well as the general public. The E3 pavilion is a partnership of Texas A&M University – Texarkana, the City of Texarkana and area school districts. The project is sponsored and funded in part by the Horace C. Cabe Foundation and Friends of Texarkana Parks.
Experiential Environment Education helps develop awareness and understanding of the natural world and our place in it. There’s no better way to learn than doing, Personal experiences not only teach but also connect, incite, and inspire. Visit the E3 Pavilion and have fun learning.
