Texas High coach and athletic director Barry Norton turned in his retirement letter to officials with T.I.S.D. and is now the new head coach and athletic director for the Arkansas High Razorbacks.
While serving as Head Coach and Athletic Director for Texas High, Norton coached teams to championships in football, baseball swimming and track. Norton led his Tiger teams to multiple post season and district championships. Officials with the Texarkana Arkansas Independent School District are hoping to see his experience bring a few championships home for TAISD.
Officials with T.I.S.D. will put together a committee to search for a replacement as soon as possible.
