    18th Annual T.A.V.C. Chili Cook-off Friday February 17

    The Texarkana Area Veteran’s Council 18th Annual Chili Cook-off will be Friday, February 17 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Truman Arnold Center at Texarkana College on Robison Road in Texarkana Texas.

    Area cooks will be competing for trophies in three categories: business, civic groups, and individual. There will also be a “people’s choice” award and an award for “best presentation” both chosen by the public. Funds raised from this annual event will be used to purchase a new DAV van for transporting local veterans to and from the VA Medical Center in Shreveport, LA. and also to assist local veterans and families here in Texarkana.

    The doors open for the public at 11:00 a.m. and tickets to taste the different chilis is $6 and will allow you to sample each entry in the competition plus put you in the drawings for door prizes.
