Deputies with the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting call at 11:54 Sunday night in the 900 block of County Road 4106. There, deputies discovered one man dead from a gunshot wound.

    B.C.S.O. Press Release:

Bowie County deputies were dispatched to a shooting in the 900 block of County Road 4106 DeKalb, Texas on 05-21-17 around 11:54 pm. When they arrived they spoke with Nicholas Paul while Life Net personnel provided medical attention to a gunshot victim. Mr. Paul told deputies that Rodney Clay Peters was his best friend and roommate. On this evening Mr. Peters had been acting “crazy” and was carrying his rifle around with him. Mr. Peters then went to Mr. Paul’s bedroom and pointed the rifle at him. Mr. Paul grabbed a handgun that was next to his bed and fired at the victim to protect his life. Mr. Peters fell to the ground and Mr. Paul called 911. Mr. Paul then performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Mr. Peters until Life Net personnel arrived and took over for him. Mr. Peters did not survive his injuries. The evidence collected in reference to this shooting has proven to be consistent with the information gathered from Mr. Paul. No arrest have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
