    Police Release Details in Double Shooting on East 9th Street

    The Texarkana Arkansas Police have released details in the double shooting at the Stop and Shop convenience store located at 1804 E. 9th Street.

    Press Release:

    On Thursday, August 24, 2017, at 10:00 pm, Texarkana Arkansas Police responded to 1804 East 9th Street, Stop and Shop Convenience Store, in reference to a 911 call of a shooting.  Upon arrival, Officers located suspect/victim Michael Clark, 18yoa of Texarkana, lying in the parking lot with 2 gunshot wounds. Clark was quickly transported by Life Net to Wadley Hospital for medical attention.

    During this time TAPD located a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the 2700 block of North State Line Avenue.  The vehicle failed to stop for police and continued to travel at a high rate of speed to the emergency room entrance of St. Michaels Hospital.  Inside the vehicle was suspect/victim Kartavious Eason,19yoa of Hope, with a gunshot wound to his leg.

    Initial investigation revealed while near the gas pumps of the store a confrontation occurred, resulting in gunfire exchanged between Clark and Eason.

    Clark is currently at Wadley Hospital listed in serious condition.  Eason was released from the hospital and arrested for unrelated warrants.

    This investigation is ongoing.
