2.5 Magnitude Earthquake in Liberty Eylau South of Texarkana

There have been lots of mysterious “booms” here in my area of Liberty Eylau lately. On Friday, May 31at 6:32 pm was a big one, but mystery solved the United States Geological Society reports that a 2.5 magnitude earthquake occurred near Buchanan Loop Road and Kings Highway.

It wasn’t very long ago that I even inquired with TTPD public information officer Shawn Vaughn about the noises, both of us thinking maybe it was out at the munitions plants. I could feel them, but I never thought of, you know, earthquakes. This has been going on for a while. Maybe it’s been earthquakes all along. Worth keeping an eye on I think.

The USGS reports that the quake was 2.5+ magnitude, the epicenter of the quake was just off of Buchanan Loop Road near the intersection of Kings Highway, and approximately 5 kilometers or 3 miles deep.
