35th ‘Christmas & Candlelight’ on December 10 & 11 at Old Washington Park

A fantastic family Christmas tradition for a lot of us is the beautiful look of Historic Washington State Park for Christmas. Tours and lots of entertainment are set for Friday, December 10, and Saturday, December 11.

It’s just a short drive to Historic Washington State Park in Washington, Arkansas. They decorate everything out like it was way back in the day. Thousands of luminaries, music in the churches, and a live Nativity at the Methodist Church. Really worth the trip!

Visit Historic Washington State Park for the 35th Annual Christmas and Candlelight, scheduled for December 10 and 11. The park will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on both days. However, to enjoy the thousands of luminaries and special music, you may want to wait until later in the afternoon to visit. Tour locations and homes will be adorned in 19th -century-style decorations, including natural handmade wreaths and swags tailored by park staff and volunteers the week of the event. Evening programming and tours begin at 5 p.m.

William’s Tavern Restaurant will serve a Christmas buffet for both lunch and dinner, so you don’t have to miss out on that tasty tradition — no matter what time you arrive for the event. Don’t miss bringing in the Christmas season the old-fashioned way at Historic Washington State Park. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children (6 -12) plus tax and are available at the 1874 Courthouse, 100 SW Morrison Street in Washington. Begin your own Christmas tradition by joining Arkansas’s premier Historic State Park, only eight miles off I-30 from Hope, Arkansas.
