The number of positive cases continues to rise in counties surrounding Texarkana. Miller County reports a total of 97 positive cases, 79 recoveries, and 2 deaths. Cass County reports 36 cases with 32 recoveries and two deaths. While Bowie County reports 242 positive COVID-19 cases, with 119 recoveries and 16 related deaths.
Earlier today Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that the state will “pause” it’s reopening and halt elective surgeries in some metro areas of the state as the COVID 19 virus continues to spread. Texas has reported 11,000 new cases in just the last two days.
The pause won’t roll back anything like before but could delay expanding occupancy levels at bars, amusement parks, large venues, and such.
