The number of positive cases continues to rise in counties surrounding Texarkana. Miller County reports a total of 97 positive cases, 79 recoveries, and 2 deaths. Cass County reports 36 cases with 32 recoveries and two deaths. While Bowie County reports 242 positive COVID-19 cases, with 119 recoveries and 16 related deaths.

Earlier today Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that the state will “pause” it’s reopening and halt elective surgeries in some metro areas of the state as the COVID 19 virus continues to spread. Texas has reported 11,000 new cases in just the last two days.

The pause won’t roll back anything like before but could delay expanding occupancy levels at bars, amusement parks, large venues, and such.

    Media Release:

TEXAKANA, TX—Bowie County Emergency Operations Center reports a total of 242 positive COVID-19 cases, with 119 recoveries and 16 related deaths. Cass County has a total 36 cases with 32 recoveries, and two deaths.

The Business Survey to gauge Economic Impact is still ongoing. All businesses in Bowie County are invited to submit a survey, to report positive or negative impacts to their business. The survey can be accessed at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeHFOIw9o16XOhE2_Ul4iKlW0K775q7zsWmjctRpovfhTWDzw/viewform?usp=sf_link

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
