7-1-2020 Texarkana’s Updated COVID 19 Numbers and Explanations

Bowie County reports a total of 286 positive COVID-19 cases, with 119 recoveries and 17 deaths. Cass County has a total of 47 cases with 38 recoveries and two deaths. Miller County reports 114 positive cases, 95 recoveries, and 2 deaths. Some have asked for some other explanations, we will try to help here.

This shows an increase of 9 more positive cases in Bowie County than yesterday, and tragically another life. Cass County is hanging steady as far as new positives to recoveries. No new cases overnight in Miller County but thankfully, another recovery.

For those asking us for additional information, we only post the numbers provided to us by our local health authorities representing our local counties surrounding Texarkana, USA. We understand that since the beginning of the pandemic our local officials have kept a count of locally confirmed cases, this list may differ a bit with state lists at different times and sometimes for different reasons, like when the State of Texas at first kept a separate list for TDCJ, then for a short time decided to change and add to numbers of counties that house inmates, that confused a bunch of folks.

For a few days after that, local outlets were encouraging you to call our local emergency operations center for clarification to all of your questions… (903) 255-5560 or CORONATXK.ORG.

With the numbers… the first number you see is the official local number of positive COVID 19 cases for that county. The second number is how many have recovered from the disease, and with sorrow, the number of deceased.

For clarification on “COVID related deaths”, we will be talking with Dr. Matt Young tomorrow, and ask. We like the way he explains things in a way that is easier to understand. We know the disease attacks most all your organs. Say you’ve already had some damaged kidneys or even pancreas and COVID latches on and does more damage to those organs that pushes dealing with that along with difficulty breathing, dropping blood oxygen… We will ask Dr. Matt and will try to remember to ask about numbers in hospitals to quarantined at home, etc…
