Jazz lovers across the region are invited to spend the day surrounded by music as the Four States Jazz Festival returns on April 17 at Central Mall.
The festival will feature a full day of live performances beginning at 9:00 a.m. and continuing through 7:30 p.m., showcasing the talents of 15 middle school, high school, and university jazz bands from across the area.
Throughout the day, audiences will hear a wide variety of jazz styles performed by student musicians, highlighting the depth of musical talent in the Four States region.
The Texarkana Jazz Orchestra will also perform multiple times during the event, serving as the festival’s headlining group.
The day will conclude with a special performance by the orchestra at 6:50 p.m., featuring guest soloists and bringing the festival to a high-energy finale.
The Four States Jazz Festival is designed to celebrate music education while giving young performers the opportunity to share the stage in a professional-style setting. Organizers say the event continues to grow each year, drawing both participants and spectators from across Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma.
The event is expected to be family-friendly and open to the public, offering a full day of entertainment for anyone looking to enjoy live jazz in Texarkana.
