    Early Morning Shootout Between Homeowner and Intruder Being Investigated

    The Miller County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early morning shooting incident between a homeowner and an armed intruder at a residence on Miller County road 295,

    Press Release:

    The Miller County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred at a residence on County Road 295.  Deputies responded to the residence at approximately 04:40 A.M. in reference to a prowler call.  The homeowner reported someone was attempting to break into his home.  The homeowner confronted an armed perpetrator who he reported as being dressed in all black and wearing a ski-mask.  The two exchanged gunfire and the perpetrator fled the area on foot.  At the time of the call, deputies were unable to locate the suspect.

    At approximately 06:56 A.M. deputies were notified of a 16-year-old male gunshot victim at Wadley Hospital.

    The Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the incident.  The 16-year-old male gunshot victim is listed in stable condition.

    The Miller County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information regarding this incident to please come forward.
