Arrest Made in Texarkana Cold Case Murder Investigation

Texarkana Texas Police have arrested Charles Madlock in connection to the 2009 murder of Rickey Dorsey Jr. After Madlock’s release from the Arkansas Department of Corrections he has been extradited to Texarkana Texas and is currently housed in the Bi-State Jail with a $1,000,000 bond.

    Media Release:

We’ve made an arrest in the shooting death of Rickey Lee Dorsey, Jr., who was found lying in the roadway in the 1600 block of Apple Street by two passersby on October 7, 2009. He had been shot several times and later died at the hospital.

A murder warrant for Charles Madlock was issued last August after detectives working on several “cold cases” developed evidence about his involvement in the 2009 murder. Because Madlock was in the custody of the Arkansas Department of Corrections at the time the warrant was issued, the detectives placed a warrant hold on him. Upon completing his sentence with ADC last week, he was immediately extradited back to Texas on this murder warrant.

In addition to that charge, he also had an outstanding felony warrant for Failing to Appear on a prior arrest for Tampering with Physical Evidence with Intent to Impair.

Madlock’s bond was set at $1 million for the murder charge and $10,000 for the Failure to Appear. He is currently being held in the Bi-State Jail on both charges.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
