As the March 5, 2024, Primary Election approaches, Texarkana residents are urged to mark their calendars and prepare for the opportunity to shape the trajectory of Federal, State, and Local representation. The Bowie County District Court has released crucial information for the upcoming March Primary.
Important Dates:
- Last Day to Register: Monday, February 5, 2024
- Early Voting: Tuesday, February 20, 2024, to Friday, March 1, 2024
- Election Day: Tuesday, March 5, 2024
Where and How to Vote:
- Registered and eligible Texas voters can participate in early voting at any location within Bowie County during the designated period.
- Early and election day locations, dates, and times can be found on the County Elections webpage. Click on “Where to Vote” for maps and specific locations.
- Bowie County participates in the State’s Countywide Polling Place Program, allowing voters to choose from 25 Vote Centers in the county on Election Day.
- On Election Day, polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and voters in line by 7 p.m. will be able to cast their ballots.
Voting by Mail:
- To vote by mail, individuals must apply for a ballot by Friday, February 23, 2024.
- Applications can be completed online at www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/voter/reqabbm.shtml or requested by calling the County Election office at 903.628.6803.
- Eligibility for mail-in voting includes being 65 years or older, sick or disabled, out of the county on Election Day and during early voting, expecting to give birth within three weeks before or after Election Day, or confined in jail but otherwise eligible.
Identification Requirements:
- Voters must have a form of identification to cast their ballots. Acceptable forms include Texas Driver License, Texas Election Identification Certificate, U.S. Military Identification Card, U.S. Passport, and more.
- Expired forms of photo ID may be accepted under certain conditions.
What’s on the Ballot:
- As a Primary Election, voters will choose which Party Primary they wish to participate in at the Vote Center.
