Many astronomers are expecting the upcoming Perseid meteor shower to be the brightest in recorded human history. Find a good dark place far from city lights and enjoy this event at the peak, which is expected to be August 12.
I saw one post from an astronomer that said this year’s Perseid meteor shower will be so active and bright that many could even be visible during the daylight hours and should be considered a once in a lifetime event, with the next shower this bright not expected for at least another 100 years.
The Perseids take place every year between the middle of July and last until almost the end of August. The peak dates are August 9 – 13 with August 12th expected to be the real highlight.
