Caden Gillard and Six String Circus Set to Perform at Whiskey River Country Club March 28

Country music fans in Texarkana will have the chance to catch a high-energy live performance later this month as Caden Gillard and his band, Six String Circus, take the stage on Saturday, March 28.

The show will be held at Whiskey River Country Club, with organizers promising an “over-the-top” performance that blends country, rock, and blues into a dynamic live experience.

Gillard’s journey to the stage is as compelling as his music. A former professional bull rider, he began teaching himself guitar in 2009 while battling leukemia, often performing for hospital staff and fellow patients. After overcoming cancer, he returned to the rodeo world, pursuing his gold buckle dreams while continuing to develop his songwriting skills on the road.

His sound combines elements of traditional honky-tonk, Red Dirt country, rock ‘n roll, and blues. Gillard first broke onto the scene with his 2018 debut album Gold Buckle Dreams, followed by Red Dirt Rock N Roll in 2020 and Love & Heartbreak in 2022.

His music has gained traction on the charts, with songs like “Back to Life” reaching the MusicRow chart and others landing on the Texas Music Chart. His 2024 single “Rewind” has generated more than 400,000 streams on Spotify, while his video for “Just Outside of Dallas” premiered on Country Rebel.

Now based in Nashville, Gillard continues to write, record, and perform across the country, building a loyal fanbase. He has also shared the stage with major country artists including Zach Bryan, Cody Johnson, Lee Brice, and Koe Wetzel, among others.

Tickets are available now, and attendees are encouraged to secure their spots early for what is expected to be a packed night of live music in Texarkana.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
