Country music fans, mark your calendars! Diamond Rio, one of the most celebrated country groups of the past four decades, will take the stage at the Historic Perot Theatre on Friday, April 17.

Originally performing as The Tennessee River Boys in the 1980s, the band officially became Diamond Rio in 1989. A year later, they signed with Arista Nashville, and in 1991, they made history with their debut single, “Meet in the Middle,” becoming the first country group ever to reach No. 1 with a debut single.

Over the years, Diamond Rio has delighted fans with a string of hits including multi-week chart-topper “How Your Love Makes Me Feel,” crossover success “One More Day,” and fan favorites “Beautiful Mess,” “Unbelievable,” and “I Believe.”

In addition to their Arista Nashville albums, the group released two projects with Word Records—a holiday collection The Star Still Shines, and their Dove- and Grammy-winning Christian country album, The Reason.

Diamond Rio’s career is decorated with numerous accolades: the group is a member of the Grand Ole Opry, has won six Vocal Group of the Year awards (four CMA, two ACM), earned 14 Grammy nominations, and took home a Grammy for The Reason.

Beyond the music, the band is known for its charitable work, including longtime support for Big Brothers Big Sisters, raising over $1 million for nonprofit causes, and earning the Minnie Pearl Humanitarian Award for their community efforts.

Tickets for the Texarkana show are on sale now at The Perot Theatre box office, starting at just $48.00. Don’t miss your chance to see this legendary group perform live in an intimate, historic setting.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
