Do You Know this Non-Emergency Number for the Police?

The Texarkana Texas Police Department reminds us that if you need to contact the police, but maybe it’s not quite an emergency to call them at 903.798.3876 …but if it is an emergency, never hesitate to call 911.

    From the T.T.P.D. Facebook Page:

Please take a second to put the non-emergency number 903-798-3876 in your phone in case you ever need it.

Just like 9-1-1, it’s answered by an emergency dispatcher in the communications center 24/7. However, by using the non-emergency number, you can help the dispatchers prioritize the calls that come into the center. If both a 9-1-1 and a non-emergency line are ringing at the same time, they will answer the 9-1-1 call first because they know that the other call coming in is not as urgent and can wait just a few seconds.

Of course, never hesitate to call 9-1-1 if you need an immediate response from a police officer, firefighter, or an ambulance.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
