As we look at temps reaching the lower 40s today and melting off a lot of the ice and snow, the U.S. National Weather Service in Shreveport reports that Texarkana was under 32 degrees Fahrenheit for a total duration of 113 hours.
Texarkana never went above freezing from 7:00 pm on February 13 to noon on February 18. Over in Tyler, Texas, they were under freezing for 201 hours.
We are looking to thaw out by Sunday evening, however, nighttime temps will drop down to near freezing for most of the Ark-La-Tex making driving dangerous as some areas will refreeze, especially bridges and elevated roadways.
