The City of Texarkana, Arkansas is pleased to announce the appointment of Ed Chattaway as the new Interim Chief of Police for the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department. Chattaway will officially assume his duties on May 3, 2024.

Chattaway has been a dedicated resident of Texarkana for nearly 50 years. He has been married to his wife, Kellie, for 16 years and has raised his children in the local community. With nearly 30 years of experience in various roles within the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department (TAPD), Chattaway has established a solid reputation in the community and is well-respected throughout the department.

City Manager Robert Thompson expressed confidence in Chattaway’s ability to lead the department, stating, “Ed’s extensive experience and deep roots in Texarkana make him the ideal candidate for this position. I trust that he will continue to provide professional police services and lead the department forward.”

Chattaway shared his enthusiasm for the new role, saying, “I am looking forward to the opportunity to lead the department that I have considered my family for nearly three decades. It is an honor to serve the citizens of Texarkana, Arkansas in this capacity.”

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
