This is such a neat thing every year at Old Washington Historic Park, for Christmas, they light everything up with candles, and line the walkways with luminaries. Just beautiful! If you haven’t experienced this yet, this is the year to do it.

Old Washington is one of Arkansas’ oldest towns and it contains Historic Washington State Park on Arkansas’ oldest road. They will be doing the Christmas & Candlelight tours on Saturday, December 5, and Saturday, December 12. For more information follow their Facebook Page.

    Media Release:

You and your family will be in awe of the natural beauty that candlelit streets provide as you stroll through our historic village. Decorations, music, and more set the mood for your historic holiday experience. The homes of yesterday are adorned with historic period decorations and thousands of luminaries will light the streets throughout the town. Outside walking tours will begin at 5 p.m. and will continue until 8 p.m. Plan to enjoy an evening meal at Williams’ Tavern Restaurant from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Due to Health Department restrictions, no in-house tours will be available but you will still be able to enjoy music and 19th century Christmas scenes throughout the park at no charge. The visitor center and 1874 Courthouse will be open from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Face mask will be required to enter the visitor center and restaurant.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
