The 81st annual Four States Fair and Rodeo rolls on today, Thursday, April 9, with a full evening of entertainment highlighted by opening night of the rodeo and a special tribute for local law enforcement.

Back the Badge Night at the Fair

Thursday is officially “Back the Badge Night,” recognizing the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers across the region. Organizers say the evening is designed to bring the community together in support of those who serve and protect.

Full Schedule for Thursday, April 9

Fairgoers can enjoy a packed lineup of events:

    • 5:00 PM — Fair Opens
Gates open to the midway, food vendors, exhibits, and attractions.
    • 6:30 PM — Moss Brothers Band (Outdoor Stage)
Live music kicks off the evening with a regional favorite performing for the crowd.
    • 7:30 PM — 4 States Rodeo (Arena)
The spotlight event of the night, featuring classic rodeo competitions including bull riding, barrel racing, and more.

A Night for Family and Tradition

From carnival rides and classic fair food to live entertainment and rodeo action, Thursday night offers something for all ages. With warm spring temperatures expected, organizers anticipate a strong turnout for one of the fair’s biggest nights.

The Four States Fair and Rodeo continues through April 12 at the fairgrounds in Texarkana, bringing together visitors from across Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma for a long-standing regional tradition.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
