Helping the Texarkana Baptist Children’s Home [VIDEO]

On Monday, December 13, we had the opportunity to enjoy a Christmas celebration with the kids and staff of the Texarkana Baptist Children’s Home and decorate some trees. This time of year, we wanted to remind you of some of the needs at the orphanage.

The kids and staff of the TBCH made their way downtown for some Christmas cheer, and to decorate some trees at the Crossties Christmas Tree Forest on Broad Street. We were blessed to be invited to participate with the “Hold on to Your Britches Foundation”. The foundation is a special project to help children in our area that need a little more.

We spoke to Ms. Heather Thompson about some needs for the Christmas holiday, and the kids are good on toys, but there are some necessities that can be donated to help. The orphanage always needs donations, volunteers, and more. To find out how you can help call 870.774.8214 or visit BaptistKids.org.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
