A husband and wife from Texarkana, Arkansas, have been arrested in connection with the theft of money from an ATM in Texarkana, Texas, just hours after the crime, thanks to a coordinated investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies.
According to the Texarkana Texas Police Department, officers quickly identified the suspects following the theft, which occurred near the intersection of Stateline Avenue and College Drive.
At approximately 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, officers with the Rockport Police Department and the Arkansas State Police located the suspects’ Honda Accord near Malvern, Arkansas. Investigators say a search of the vehicle uncovered cash believed to have been stolen from the ATM.
Arrested were Keanu White, 29, and Andreana White, 28, both of Texarkana, Arkansas. The couple is currently being held in the Hot Springs County Jail on felony theft charges filed by the Texarkana Texas Police Department.
Investigators said detectives were able to quickly identify vehicles connected to the theft by reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses and using information gathered through Flock camera technology.
The investigation determined the suspects switched vehicles shortly after the theft. The second vehicle was later located abandoned on East 35th Street by the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department.
According to TTPD, assistance from the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department in locating the abandoned vehicle and helping secure a search warrant proved critical to the investigation. Evidence collected from that vehicle led detectives to identify a third vehicle—a Honda Accord—which was ultimately located by officers in Rockport, Arkansas.
Police said the suspects were identified, located in another state, and taken into custody within approximately four hours of the theft.
The Texarkana Texas Police Department credited the successful outcome to the combined efforts of its detectives and partner agencies, including the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department, Rockport Police Department, and the Arkansas State Police.
Officials said the case highlights the effectiveness of coordinated investigative work, modern technology, and strong partnerships between law enforcement agencies.
