The Texas Department of Transportation reports that SWEPCO will be doing work on utility lines along Interstate 30 this Sunday, August 14 beginning at 7:00 am. Traffic will be stopped in both directions between Kings Highway and FM2148, for 15 minutes at a time.
Press Release:
This Sunday, Aug. 14, Interstate 30 traffic in Texarkana will be stopped intermittently due to utility work starting at 7 a.m.
Southwestern Electric Power Company plans to remove overhead lines across eastbound and westbound interstate main lanes between FM 989/Kings Highway and FM 2148.
Eastbound and westbound traffic on Interstate 30 will be stopped for 15 minutes at a time. This will allow crews to lower, cut, and remove lines from the roadway. After approximately 15 minutes, traffic will be allowed to travel again. Once the queue is cleared, traffic will again be stopped, to repeat the process, until all lines are removed.
Work is expected to begin at 7 a.m. and end no later than 7 p.m.
