A timeless fairytale will come to life in downtown Texarkana this spring as Sleeping Beauty: International Ballet Stars takes the stage at the historic Perot Theatre on Friday, March 27 at 7:00 p.m.
For one extraordinary evening, audiences will be transported into a world of love, magic and breathtaking beauty as some of the world’s finest ballet performers present the beloved classic The Sleeping Beauty. The production promises an unforgettable experience for longtime ballet enthusiasts and first-time attendees alike.
Under the artistic direction of Artem Yachmennikov — a Vaganova Academy graduate and former principal dancer with the Bolshoi, San Francisco Ballet and Dutch National Ballet — the performance blends classical tradition with fresh theatrical artistry. Lavish costumes and enchanting new sets will transform the Perot Theatre stage into a magical kingdom worthy of Princess Aurora’s legendary tale.
Among the evening’s highlights will be the spellbinding Rose Adagio, one of the most technically demanding and iconic moments in classical ballet, along with a grand finale designed to leave audiences breathless.
The internationally acclaimed cast features dancers representing Moldova, Spain, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Romania, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Poland, the United States, Japan, Turkey, Armenia, Tajikistan and Belarus, along with principal dancers from Ukraine — bringing together a global showcase of elite talent rarely seen on one stage in Texarkana.
