Local Baker to Compete Live on ABC’s Good Morning America this Friday

Our good friend and most excellent cookie baker, Emily Graham of Texarkana Texas, the owner of Graham Slam Bakery, will be competing on live Television this Friday morning with an appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America for a live “Christmas cookie competition”.

Graham said that a few weeks ago she was following her daily routine and watching the popular morning news show when they announced an upcoming Christmas Cookie competition,

I saw the announcement then went on the website and entered a picture of my cookies and my recipe. I didn’t think much after that because the picture they had for Christmas cookies was some chocolate chip cookies rolled in peppermints. So I thought I entered the wrong competition and never thought about it again. Monday I get a email from a producer saying they were interested in talking to me more because they were interested in doing a cookie competition on the show. They asked for me to write back a little about myself and my cookie recipe again. Shortly after doing that they called me for an interview and said they would let me know if I made it by Tuesday morning. Yesterday I got the email saying I had been chosen for the show and an all expenses paid trip to NYC. I was still in shock and thought someone had hacked my email and pranked me. It wasn’t until a few hours ago that I was for sure when they sent me the plane ticket and hotel itinerary.

For the show, Graham is having to prepare six dozen decorated cookies, and a dozen naked cookies that she will decorate on live television this Friday, December 15. Good Morning America airs on ABC from 7 am to 9 am local time.

Be sure to watch and support Ms. Emily this Friday morning. Follow her and learn more about her cookies on her Facebook Page… Graham Slam Bakery.
