As emergency crews were clearing an accident scene on Highway 59 another major crash occurred when a passenger vehicle ran underneath the back-end of an 18 wheeler. The driver of the car had to be extricated with the jaws of life and some creative engineering.

This accident occurred on Highway 59 south just before the Sulfer River Bridge in Bowie County. The driver of the passenger vehicle was finally extricated from the wreckage after crews worked for more than 2 hours and was airlifted to a local hospital in critical condition. The driver of the 18-wheeler did not suffer any major injuries. Lanes in both directions on Highway 59 were closed for hours while the Liberty Eylau Fire Department worked the scene with assistance from area law enforcement and other local volunteer fire departments including Cass County Fire District 2, Redwater Volunteer Fire Department, and the Wake Village Fire Department.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
