A mother and her 10-year-old daughter were injured early this morning when gunfire erupted outside their home in the 3000 block of Mason Street.
TTPD reports the shooting occurred around 12:30 a.m. while the victims were asleep. Multiple rounds were fired into the residence, striking both the mother and child. Neighbors reported hearing several shots, and responding officers discovered that another nearby home had also been hit by gunfire.
Emergency responders from LifeNet transported the victims to Christus St. Michael Hospital. Due to the severity of her injuries, the young girl was later transferred to Arkansas Children’s Hospital for further treatment.
