Overnight Shooting at Texarkana Apartment Complex


An overnight shooting at Town North Apartments on Elizabeth Street in Texarkana Texas resulted in a 21-year-old man in a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Texarkana Police are investigating an overnight shooting at an apartment complex in the 4600 block of Elizabeth Street.

Officers were dispatched to a call of a shooting at the Town North Apartments at 10:46 last night, but were unable to locate a victim or any evidence of a shooting when they arrived.  A short time later, officers were advised of a shooting victim that had been dropped off at the emergency room at Christus St. Michael.  The 21 year old man had a single gunshot wound to his chest.

While there are several conflicting accounts as to what happened, a man who later arrived at the emergency room waiting room was identified as a possible suspect by witnesses.  He was transported to the police department to be interviewed by detectives.

The victim, who underwent surgery overnight, is expected to survive.

We continue to investigate the shooting, but no arrests have yet been made related to it.
