A semi-truck overturned at the intersection of St. Michael Road and Richmond Road earlier today, causing significant traffic disruptions in the area.
According to reports, the truck’s load shifted as the driver attempted to navigate the turnaround, leading to the truck and trailer tipping over. Large pipes spilled from the trailer, rolling toward the side entrance of Raising Cane’s Chicken Restaurant. Fortunately, no vehicles, buildings, or pedestrians were damaged.
The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities are on the scene working to clear the wreck, but the process is expected to take some time.
Traffic is heavily backed up in the area, and drivers are advised to avoid St. Michael Road west of Richmond Road. Those traveling east should be cautious when using the service road, as congestion remains an issue.
Stay tuned for updates as crews work to reopen the roadway.
