Texarkana is about to get in a pickle—in the best way possible. The highly anticipated Pickle Fest Texarkana is set for Friday, September 13th, 10:00am to 5pm at the Front Street Festival Plaza in downtown Texarkana, Arkansas.

Organized by Monica Beeman, affectionately known as the event’s “Head Pickle,” Pickle Fest promises an evening packed with music, food, contests, and of course—plenty of pickles.

“This is an event where everybody can come together, laugh, and just have fun,” Beeman said in a recent interview. “There’s something for everyone, whether you’re a serious pickle lover or just here for the music and games.”

    A Full Dill of Entertainment

The Genesis PrimeCare & Fat Jacks Sports Bar Live Music Stage will feature three live acoustic sets throughout the night, keeping the crowd moving and grooving while festivalgoers enjoy their favorite pickle-inspired foods.

For the adults, The Wild Hare Beer Garden will be serving cold drinks, while families can enjoy activities in the Signature Care ER & ArkLaTex Adventure Club Kids Tent, including coloring and face painting.

    Pickle-Packed Fun

Food vendors will serve up everything from deep-fried pickles and pickle egg rolls to cotton candy wrapped pickles and pickle shots. Festivalgoers can also grab photos with “Paddy the Pickle” near the main stage.

Shoppers will find plenty of quirky merchandise from vendors offering all things pickle—perfect for anyone looking to take home a little “pickle treasure.”

And for those who like competition, this year’s lineup includes:

    • Pickle Pet Parade & Pet Costume Contest (sponsored by Asher Point Independent Living)

    • Pickle Your Pickle Canning Competition (sponsored by EXIT Realty)

    • Pickle Juice Drinking Contest & Pickle Juice Stein Holding Contest (sponsored by Twisted Fork)

    • Cornhole Tournament (sponsored by Whitetail Properties Real Estate)

    A Free, Family-Friendly Event

One of the most popular aspects of Pickle Fest is that it’s free to attend and free to park. Organizers encourage festivalgoers to arrive early and be prepared to walk a short distance from parking areas near Broad Street.

Sponsors for this year’s event include Lost Pizza, LeafGuard Gutters, and Texarkana Tent.

Whether you come for the contests, the music, or just to try a pickle you’ve never heard of before, Pickle Fest Texarkana promises a one-of-a-kind experience.

“Texarkana loves a good festival,” Beeman said, “and Pickle Fest is about celebrating community with a little bit of crunch.”

Pickle Fest Texarkana happens Friday, September 13th, starting at 10 a.m. at Front Street Festival Plaza in downtown Texarkana, Arkansas. Admission and parking are free.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
