Texarkana’s most exciting entrepreneurial competition, Pitch It Texarkana!, is set to return on April 29, 2025, at Crossties in Downtown Texarkana. This high-stakes pitch event offers local innovators the opportunity to win up to $10,000 for their groundbreaking ideas.
Aspiring entrepreneurs from within a 45-mile radius of Texarkana are encouraged to submit their original, innovative ideas for a chance to compete. The deadline to apply is April 18, 2025. Participants will receive notification if they have advanced to the semifinal round.
How It Works
Contestants will have three minutes to present their pitch to a panel of judges. Presentations must be concise and compelling, addressing key business questions, including:
- What is your technology, product, or service?
- What problem does it solve?
- Who is your target market?
- How large is the potential market?
- Who are your competitors, and what is your competitive advantage?
- Who is behind the company, and what relevant experience do they bring?
To ensure a fair and engaging competition, PowerPoint and slide-based presentations are not allowed. Instead, participants may use note cards, prototypes, or presentation boards.
Prize Breakdown
The competition boasts a generous prize structure:
- 1st Place: $10,000
- 2nd Place: $5,000
- 3rd Place: $2,500
Prize money will be distributed in three installments over four months, contingent on progress reports detailing business development and fund utilization.
Eligibility & Entry Requirements
- Entrants must be at least 18 years old by competition day.
- Submissions must be original work and cannot be copied from existing products or services.
- Entries that have secured more than $250,000 in equity funding or generated over $750,000 in sales in the past 12 months are ineligible.
- Each participant may submit only one idea, whether individually or as part of a team.
- External funding sources must be disclosed upon application.
Judging & Selection Process
A panel of judges will evaluate pitches based on the originality, feasibility, and market potential of each idea. Semifinalists will be notified via email, and finalists will be selected at the judges’ discretion.
Winners will be required to submit progress reports at two-month and four-month intervals to receive the second and third prize installments. Failure to meet these requirements may result in forfeiture of prize money.
